To improve the video assessment experience, we encourage you to engage with the content manager features, where you can upload both video and audio files. Shortlister's content manager allows you to create a personalised user journey. Regardless of whether you are a recruiter, using our tool to recruit your next top talent, or a Careers Advisor creating a practice interview, engaging with content will improve the user experience and increase their perception of the hiring company/careers service.
Step by Step Guide
Recording Content
This is the easy part and it doesn't require a Hollywood film set:
- Find a quiet, private, well-lit place, free from possible interruptions
- Put your mobile phone in landscape mode (turn it on its side)
- Mount your phone using a tripod, rest it against a pile of books, or simply hold it up
- Record yourself asking the question
- Move the video file to your PC or Mac and upload to Shortlister (see below)
Uploading to your Account
Firstly, select on the ‘content’ tab.
To the right-hand side select the ‘upload’ button and select the video from your device. Depending on the size of the video, the upload could take up to 10 minutes.
You are able to edit the name of the video by double clicking on the video name itself.
As well as give the video a specific category name, making it easier to find your videos when creating an interview.
Now you’ve uploaded your videos, you can select and use these for your interview welcome video, introduction video and interview questions.
Simply navigate into the job and hover over the video template, click the "replace video" button, as you can see you can narrow your search down by selecting a category. Once you have found your video you can select the ‘use video’ button to replace. Just be sure to hit save.
